Heavy barrel half-stocked plains rifle. Barrel stamped F. Hellinghaus in hand-held die stamps. The rifle measures 55" overall with 38" barrel of approx. 42 caliber rifled. The lock is beautifully engraved with dog and bird scenes and shows considerable case-colors with "tobacco brown" on barrel. The stock is mounted with nicely engraved German silver patchbox and mounts. With stag inlay in cheekpiece. The sights have been repositioned and the stock is of a later era. A plate in the belly of the stock is engraved "E. Parker, Concord". A beautiful and high-quality rifle. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
