Hawaii 1883 Quarter Dollar. 1883. King Kalakaua I. PCGS graded Mint State 66. <b>Utterly gorgeous surfaces, light purple-gray toning, and flashy bright luster. Consider this in light of the usual bagmarked specimens that are offered and you'll see at once how admirable a coin it is. One for the connoisseur. King Kalakaua's coinage was struck at the San Francisco mint from dies prepared by Charles E. Barber of the Philadelphia Mint. Kalakaua ordered $1 million face value in silver coins, all of which bear the date 1883. A large percentage of the issue was later melted. The quarters are the most plentiful issue in baggy Uncirculated condition, but are very elusive in this grade, very elusive indeed!</b> <p align="center">Superior Galleries was founded in 1929 and has been a leader in
