Hasty Pudding Club Fob
From Harvard University. A large octagonal silver fob, reads: H.P.C. / (pic fingers pointing at a pudding pot) / “Seges votis respondet” // Concordia Discors / (pic of Egyptian sphinx) / wreath with center engraved J.T. M. / 1795. 40 mm. The Hasty Pudding Club is a social club for undergraduates at Harvard University, founded in 1795 by then 15-year-old Horace Binney. The name is taken from the repast enjoyed at the first meetings. Originally begun to bring together students for socializing and camaraderie, it is the oldest collegiate social club in the country and today is the only co-ed club on campus with members from freshman through senior classes. Over time it has joined with and given rise to Hasty Pudding Theatricals and other groups.
