Noted chemist (1844–1930) involved with the passage of the landmark Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. In 1912, Wiley resigned and took over the laboratories of Good Housekeeping magazine where he established the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by C. M. Bell of Washington, D. C., signed at the bottom of the image in black ink, “H. Wiley, August 3, 1912.” Some light surface marks and spots to image and some mild toning to borders, otherwise fine condition.
