<B>Harvard University Presidents 19th Century Autograph Collection</B></I> consisting of the following seven items: <B>John T. Kirkland</B></I>- the undergraduate Kirkland Hall is named after this highly-respected minister, an 1826 DS regarding a gift to the library; <B>Josiah Quincy III</B></I>- in his long career he was also a U.S. congressman and the mayor of Boston, an 1839 DS regarding a matter voted on by the Harvard faculty and a twice-signed 1841 ALS/DS; <B>Edward Everett</B></I>- a politician and orator whose two-hour Gettysburg speech has been nearly forgotten in favor of Lincoln's two-minute address, an 1846 DS; <B>Cornelius Conway Felton,</B></I> an 1850 ALS to Josiah Quincy requesting him to give a speech "<I>garnished with 20 puns</B></I>" at a Phi Beta Kappa dinner, as well as an 1853 ALS and another undated ALS.
