<td width="100%">
The handle of this gorgeous 6" long sterling spoon by Dominick and Haff has the city seal of Hartford, Connecticut, the hart at the ford of the river. The rest of the handle has oak leaves and acorns as well as the dates 1687, 1689, and 1856. The bowl has the Charter Oak. Charles II gave the towns of Connecticut, in 1662, more independence than other colonies. His successor, James II did not agree with this and sent an emissary to retrieve the Hartford charter in 1687. Legend has it that this charter was hidden in a mighty old oak tree, the Charter Oak. Unfortunately, this grand old tree was destroyed in a storm in 1856. This spoon is in extremely good condition with a fancy monogram on the back of the handle and will cost $4 to ship to US addresses.
