Golfer from the Bailiwick of Jersey (1870–1937) who won The Open Championship six times. He is a member of golf’s fabled ‘Great Triumvirate,’ along with John Henry Taylor and James Braid. Rare ALS, one page, lightly-lined, 8 x 10.5, Vardon’s business letterhead, May 28, 1910. Letter to a gentleman, in part: “Sorry one way we are not playing Saturday as both Braid & I had refused to play at Kingsdowne [sic] for Saturday.” Central vertical and horizontal folds with slight edge separations, otherwise fine condition. The only handwritten Vardon letter we have ever offered.
