Lot includes a 3” x 5” note card on which Truman has written: “<I>Best of luck to a coming young man!/ Harry S. Truman/ Independence/ July 28, 1956</B></I>” and Truman's personal envelope on which he has written his bold signature “<I>Harry S. Truman</B></I>” on the top right corner. These items date from the period just after Truman's second term as President, living in Independence, Missouri. It was during this period was busy writing his two-volume memoir.
