TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, County Court, Jackson County, Missouri letterhead, August 18, 1931. Letter to former Secretary of the Treasury John W. Snyder, in part: “I appreciate yours of the 14th inst. very much. I have had so many worries on my mind of late that nothing I do seems to have the proper result. I was afraid the camp had been rather dull for you and I am more than delighted to find that it was not…I am counting on the November visit to Little Rock and if I go to Birmingham to see that new court house I will certainly stop by to see you. I do hope that we can take the whole regiment to Fort Sill and fire the 155s.” Truman adds a handwritten postscript, “I just received a letter from ‘My Lord.’ It is a classic. I wish you could read it.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature) and a couple tiny tears to right edge.
