Writing just three weeks after he won re-election, Truman thanks a New Yorker for supporting his presidency and the Democratic Party. In full: “I have heard of the generous way in which you expressed confidence in my leadership and want you to know of my heartfelt appreciation. I am more grateful than I can say. The Democratic Party must go forward with progress and the support which you gave so wholeheartedly gives me strength and courage and renewed faith in the principles for which our party must always stand.” Matted with a color likeness and framed to an overall size of 17.75 x 12.25. In fine condition, with a few bends, a couple of tiny rust spots, and light overall toning. A gracious letter from Truman following his surprising and historic presidential victory.
