TLS as president, one page, 6.5 x 8.25, White House letterhead, May 15, 1952. Letter to Daniel A. Poling, president of the Military Chaplains Association of the USA, in full: "I appreciate very much your letter of the ninth. I am just as sorry as you are that I can't get to Fort Slocum for the July meeting to which you refer. I'll be happy to see you when you come to Washington. Don't you buy a copy of that book of Bill Hillman's because I have you on the list for a special copy. Those special copies have not come out yet but just as soon as they do I'll sign one for you and send it to you." Archivally double-matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 19 x 15. In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the left side and lower blank area.

Truman is most likely referring to the book Mr. President, the first publication from the personal diaries, private letters, papers, and revealing interviews of Harry S. Truman. Published in 1952, Mr. President was edited by William Hillman, a close friend of Truman.
