Truman Photograph Inscribed and Signed on Mat, May 8, 1945-his 61st birthday and V-E Day</B></I> Original 10” x 13” black-and-white portrait mounted in a 13” x 18” matte inscribed in full: <I>“My best to Ed McKim, friend, buddy, advisor, Harry Truman 5/8/45” </B></I>Ed McKim, who served as a sergeant in the field artillery battery commanded by Captain Harry Truman during World War I, later served briefly as an advisor to the President. The item, signed on the day “Victory in Europe” was celebrated (just a few weeks after Truman took office following the death of FDR), has been framed to 16.75” x 21”.
