Splendid vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 9.25 photo of Houdini in profile, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To my old Pal of Twenty years Dr. R. B. Lothian, Good Luck, Houdini, March 2/20, To S. G. A.” Double suede matted and framed to an overall size of 14.75 x 16.75. In fine condition.

Houdini was in England in 1920 as part of his ongoing crusade to debunk those who relied on ‘cooperative spirits’ to mystify audiences when he signed this for his old friend. During his overseas visit, Houdini also communicated with Arthur Conan Doyle, a staunch believer in spiritualism who sought to contact those in the afterlife. Just about as exquisite a Houdini image as one would hope to find.
