Signed book: Elliott’s Last Legacy, Card Tricks and Conjuring, Edited by Houdini. First edition, first printing. NY: Adams Press, 1923. Hardcover, 5.5 x 8, 322 pages. Signed on the first free end page, “Best wishes, Houdini 1924. Look over this book carefully.” A Houdini bookplate has been affixed to the inside front cover, suggesting that perhaps this was once part of Houdini’s extensive magic library. In good to very good condition, with partial separation along hinges, owner’s stamp and tape residue on the lightly soiled signed page, moderate damp/pink staining to cover and inside cover, cloth cover worn at edges and spine, discoloration along spine, and bumps to corners. Despite the book’s physical flaws, Houdini’s writing is dark and clear, and his instruction to “look over this book carefully” most intriguing!
