Harry Bertoia untitled (Spill Cast) USA, c. 1965 bronze with patina 26"w x 11"d x 25.5"h Bertoia developed a technique of form-making called "Spill Cast" in which molten metal was poured into a pool or onto sand and pummeled with stones. The metal would cool into jagged and asymmetrical forms, producing a surface similar to coral. This unique example is exceptional for its three-dimensional qualities, setting it apart from other Spill Cast forms that are more planar in composition. Phone bids may be arranged by calling the gallery prior to the
day of the sale. There are a limited number of phones lines so we encourage you to arrange phone bids early. All lots must be estimated over $500 to be on the phone.
