Harrison Begay Silk Screen,''Navajo Feather Dancer''. Today Harrison Begay is rightly referred to as the patriarch of twentieth century Navajo art. Begay began his education at the Fort Wingate Indian School in New Mexico in 1927 and completed his studies at the Santa Fe Indian School in 1939, taking art lessons from Dorothy Dunn. After graduation, Harrison Begay was granted an Indian Commission scholarship which enabled him to attend Black Mountain College in 1940 and 1941.
