Harrington and Richardson style Federal Labs marked flare gun with shoulder stock, 37mm cal., marked “No. 1 MARK ‘I’” on left side of frame, nickel plated, with old brass tag affixed to a lanyard ring at the butt “U.S. Naval Station Tongue Point, 193”. This flare gun is in overall good condition showing approx. 50% frosted nickel finish with the balance showing a light patina with scattered worn areas that have turned dark. The action is good, the bore is also good and the wood stock is good with a crack on the right side, some scattered mars and scratches from carry and storage and maker stamping on the left rear side of the stock “Federal Laboratories, Pittsburg, Penn.”; interestingly enough, the rear left portion of the frame is broad arrow proofed. Tongue Point Naval Station reportedly was operated as a sea plane base during WW II outside Astoria, Oregon. Est.: $400-$800.
