This is a Harrington & Richardson Arms Company (H&R) Model 2 double action revolver in a 32 S&W caliber. The revolver features a blue finish with original hard rubber grips and a 3 inch solid rib barrel. The pistol has a serial number of 171723 and was manufactured from circa 1889-1940. In 1859 Daniel B. Wesson, the co-founder of Smith & Wesson, started a firearms manufacturing firm sharing patent with Nathan Harrington. In 1871 Wesson started a brief partnership with his nephew Gilbert Henderson Harrginton, as Wesson & Harrginton, until Harrington bought him out in 1874. In 1874 Harrington and another former Smith & Wesson employee, William Augustus Richardson, formed the new Harrington & Richardson Company and in 1888 the firm was incorporated as The Harrington & Richardson Arms Company. The barrel is marked "Harrington & Richardson Arms Company Worcester Mass. U.S.A. Pat Oct. 8 1895". Curio & Relic Handgun FFL Transfer or NICS Background.
