Harrington & Richardson Commemorative Trapdoor Carbine, one of two extra fancy ornamented guns created by the firm to honor the 100th centennial year of The Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. This elaborate carbine is engraved with the nameof Bloody Knife, Indian Guide, 7th U.S. Calvary, (who was employed as a guide), presentation display cased, with paperwork about its fancy mate, for Tom Custer, displayed in 1976 at the National Rifle Association show. The carbine ismade to exact specifications with correct carbine features showing finely engraved action and barrel with presentations and scroll in stocked deluxe walnut with similar markings to original actual Springfields. The action is marked LBH#67X. Thetrigger guard is engraved and inscribed with commemoration of events. The condition is excellent to near mint, and it is displayed in its original carrying case. This and the Tom Custer guns were the property of Harrington & Richardsonand were to be retained by factory and not offered for sale, however, H&R went out of business and this carbine was offered for sale in 1983 at auction.
