Models would dance to music in her New York residence providing her the ability to capture their delicate movements. The model for this work was Rose Yasgore and the very title, Scherzo, is a musical term referring to a quick triple time composition or humorous instrumental. Combined with the functionality of the fountain, another source of sprightly music, this clever bronze embodies the hallmarks of Harriet Frishmuth's work.
