Rare autograph letter, 5.75 x 8.5, no date, but postmarked December 23, 2006. Lee writes, in full: “I hope this signed label suffices. It is too much of a struggle now to cope with mailing books, etc.” Also included is an ink signature, “With best wishes, Harper Lee,” on an off-white 4 x 2 clipped slip. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, bearing a return address in Lee’s hand, as well as an unsigned color glossy 4 x 6 photo. Any written correspondence from Lee is quite scarce.
