Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 13 June 1996, to friend Doris Leapard. Lee mentions the hot weather and writes about her enjoyment of music though her hearing is not good. Letter reads in part, ''...My hearing is so poor that I no longer enjoy the theatre, but I do enjoy concerts, now...'' Lee signs her first name, ''Nelle''. The letter is written on a 6'' x 4'' note card, filling up all pages of blank space on the card. Fine condition. Handwriting in another hand on the verso of accompanying envelope, else very good.
