Hardwood fighting staff from South Pacific probably New Zealand or Figi area, measuring approx. 43-1/2” in length with nicely carved top in designs identifiable to the indigenous peoples of this region. The staff measures nearly 1-1/2” thick, and is in good condition with fairly sharp carving and a couple of splits from use. Carving is of very good quality and we would date the weapon at 19th century or earlier. Old paper tag is labeled “Figian Club”. From the Hugh Hayes collection. Est: $350 - $700
