He enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in the late 1940s, his career cut short by his sudden death at age 29 on New Year's Day, 1953. His multi-talented son had begun performing at age eight and was appearing in concert by age 16. In 1964, he recorded the soundtrack for Your Cheatin' Heart, a film about his father's life. Also a talented songwriter, the younger Williams was named "Entertainer of the Year" by the Country Music Association in 1987 and 1988 and has won 15 BMI awards. Featured here is a 3" x 2 1/2" card signed by Williams, Sr. and a photograph of Junior being held as a baby by his famous father, signed by the famous son.
