Handcarved Corn Husking Peg. This was an implement that was a ''must have'' in the early days of farming when stripping the husks off ears of corn. This hand-carved tool was considered a time-saver and is still used in some Amish communities. The history of this tool dates back to early Indian times and was adapted by settlers. This piece measures 5'' and the leather thong which 3 fingers went through has torn away.
