Sam Carpenter was an elderly county commissioner living in Red Rock, Oklahoma who (in his spare time) loved to "whittle" and began carving little figures of the people around him. He wound up creating caricatures of several of his friends and acquaintances. After his death, many of his carvings were given to the folks he'd depicted. This one was sold at auction about 10 years ago. We don't know who this one represented.
