Amitabha is seated inpadmâsana, the lotus position. His right hand forms the bhumisparsamudra, the gesture of touching the earth. His left hand is placed in his lap, holding a round bowl. A simple monk’s habit covers the body of the deity, his facial features are distinct, and his hair is tied into a high knot atop his head with colored tips. The figure is closed and the original filling is kept intact.
