Hand-made Wood 1/4 Scale Medicine wagon by Fred Crissman. Notable wood carver and historian. Extremely precise and intricate detail in this wonderful piece of art. Took 15 Months to create. This is just one of several models that Mr. Crissman has carved including a Stage Coach and a Chuck Wagon. His carvings have fetched as much as $18,000 in the past The pictures displayed here are of a one fourth scale miniature. It is a true miniature in that itis an exact duplicate of a full scale wagon reduced to one fourth of it’s original size. Every part works just as on the full scale. It is approximately 33 inches long by 17 inches wide and 27 inches tall. This creation was over a year in the making and is the third in a series of wagons created by Fred Crissman of Crissman Studios. Fred has over forty years experience building miniatures and many of his creations are displayed in museums and private collections. He specializes in the time period of the mid to late eighteen hundreds. As this example displays, ‘no stone was left unturned’ when it comes to detail. From the Winona undercarriage to the elaborate carving on the wagon body, from the extensive graphics to the creative figures, every detail is as authentic as can be reproduced in one fourth scale. This creation is by no means a representation of a particular person or wagon. Also included with this miniature, is a published book describing this display and its making.
