A neat, thumb-sized carving of a Seated Bear (an important ancient symbol to the Chinese) in fine Turquoise, in the unique but totally characteristic manner of the Han period. He looks like he is peering out at the world from his cave! The Turquoise is of good quality with tan matrix showing to the viewers left, and a couple of small black matrix areas at the base....good for instant identification. I was told he was dug out of a collapsed tomb: no air would have gotten at him so he has only light patina. Pierced vertically he can be a wonderful pendant. Very Rare image - especially in other stones than Jade.
