Hamley & Co. Pendleton Oregon Wooly Chaps c. 1900-
For your consideration is this pair of Hamley and Co. Angora wooly chaps from Pendleton, OR and shown from early 1900's. This is a wonderful pair of Angora fur wooly chaps, they are a dark brown shows wonderful construction and is stamped Hamley & Co. Pendleton, ORE next to the waist band. In 1905 J.J. relocated to Pendleton, Oregon and set up shop on the Oregon Trail in the same building that exists to this day. Hamley was known as a harness and saddle maker, but the business soon developed around its saddles and became known throughout the west as the maker of "the finest saddles man could ride." Chaps of this quality have sold for $900.00 consistently on other auction sites. The quality of this pair of chaps is good with little wear spots to around the knee area of the chaps and to the fringe at the bottom of the pair of chaps. The measurements of this pair of chaps are 41" long and 36" in the waist.
