Lot of 12 (most different) stocks marked as Specimen, all printed by Hamilton Bank Note Company of New York. Includes: Carolina Power & Light Co.; Central Illinois Light Co.; Altar Cons. Mines, Inc.; Corporate Securities Fund, Inc.; General Railway Signal Co. (x2); Hazeltine Corp.; American Founders Corp.; Joseph Bancroft & Sons Co.; Frankford & Southwark Philadelphia City Passenger RR; and two different City Ice & Fuel Co. The Hamilton Bank Note Company, incorporated in New York in 1884, specialized in engraving and printing security documents such as banknotes, stamps, and stationery. It gained recognition for producing the Fifth Series of Canal Zone stamps in 1906, reflecting its role in U.S. postal history. The company was liquidated in 1948, and its assets were later absorbed by the Security Bank Note Company of Philadelphia in 1951.
