Half stocked percussion plains type rifle signed on the lock plate and the top of the barrel “H. E. Dimick” with barrel also showing “St. Louis”; .54 cal., 32” octagon barrel, brown finish, wood stock, #NVSN. This desirable going West gun is in overall very good condition showing a dark brown patina to metal surfaces with some light firing pitting on the barrel at the breech; fair bore, good action with double set trigger that is working at time of description; the markings are clear; the barrel is double keyed to the front of the stock; there is a silver fore end piece and two silver ferrules holding a brass-tipped wood cleaning rod; round patchbox and iron butt plate. Dimick was in the class of Hawken and Beauvais; this piece has a great look and is the way collectors like to find them. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
