Half stocked percussion plains type rifle, .40 cal., 41” octagon barrel signed “W. C. Woodyard”; back action Leman lock, wood stock with patchbox and brass furniture, pewter forend cap, brass tipped wood ramrod; double set triggers. Thisrifle is in overall good condition showing a dark brown patina on metal surfaces with what appears to be remnants of two additional barrel keys down both sides of the barrel toward the muzzle indicating this rifle may have at one time beenfull stocked; good action with set trigger functioning at time of description; wood stock shows an older refinish and three decorative metal inlays. A nice long barrel plains rifle. Est.: $400-$800.
