Half-stock percussion plains rifle marked Tryon, Philadelphia. Approx. .44 caliber percussion, medium weight octagon barrel. Measuring 35-1/2”, 51-1/2” overall. Barrels are secured by two keys, fancy engraved brass and German silver mounts. Good quality fiddleback striped stock lightly checkered at the wrist. The condition is good to very good overall with patina on the barrel showing some light erosion and pinprickpitting. Stocks show some even wear to the checkering, one minor hairline crack above the trigger. Some minor marks but at least very good overall. The patchbox and triggerguard are beautifully engraved in anextra fancy patter. Double set triggers, gold band and blow-out plug.
