Haitian Painting in acrylic on Canvas by the artist Wilson Bigaud. The Painting is 24"x30" and is framed for an overall dimension of 30.5" x 36.5". This painting dates from prior to Bigaud's depression in the late 50's early 60's. There are some writings under his signature which cannot be identified as they are mostly under the frame and in a dard area of the painting, these appear to be the title of the painting as given by the artist.

About the Artist: Wilson Bigaud is considered one of the great masters of Haitian art. Born in 1931, he began his painting under the direction of Hector Hyppolite when he was only fifteen years old.
Bigaud suffered from severe depression for most of his life, which caused him to cease painting almost entirely for many years. In 1962, he began to paint again. Today, Wilson Bigaud is a walking legend in the full flourish of his second career.
