Haitian Painting in Acrylic on Canvas by the Reknown artist TIGA (Jean Claude Garoute) dated 04. The painting is 18"x 24" and is stretched but unframed. The painting will be shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity from the AlliaTiga Foundation.

About the Artist: TIGA ( Jean-Claude Garoute) Was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on December 9th, 1935 and has dedicated his life to art. In his own right, he is an art animator, a painter, poet, musician, erg-therapist, and a ceramist. In 1968 He founded in Port-au-Prince, a cultural center called Pot-Mitan to express the "Novelle Ecole". In 1973 at "Soissons la Montagne", he started with Maud Robard the cultural village with all the arts as basis for the development which became known as Saint Soleil. In 1984 he stayed one year in California,with the Traditions program at Irvine University. He then stayed at Brewster, Cape Cod, Massachusetts were he presented with Barbara Wallace: "Poème a Point" (Poem with point) and worked around the experiment of vocal drum. In 1985 He returned to Haiti were he developed his own technique of "Soleil Brule" (Burn Sun). That year he held the first exhibit of Soleil Brule in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 1994, he was the recipient of the Gold Medal at Second Biennal, held at the museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Tiga is internationally reknown and has exhibited word wide. He passed away in December of 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
