About the Artist: Emmanuel Joseph was born in March 1962, in St Marc, Haiti. His father is a pastor and his mother died when he was a baby. At 3, he moved to Port-au-Prince with his father. He was initiated to painting by his uncle Gabriel Alexis and from 1985 he has concentrated on jungle scenes. Since then, he has been very well known in this genre. His paintings are packed with colorful fruit and flowers surrounding animals. He exhibited in the Musuem of Saint-Pierre college in Haiti, and Milwaukee Art Center, Wisconsin 1973. His paintings are part of many private and museum collections.
