Russian-born American naval officer and engineer who presided over buildup of US nuclear-powered Navy. TLS “<i>H. G. Rickover</i>,” 1p, 4to, “<i>At Sea, North Atlantic</i>,” Oct 3, 1966. On <i>USS Guardfish</i> letterhead to John Moss, congressman and former WWII naval officer, commenting on a successful sea trial of this nuclear submarine, relating the WWII history of the original ship of that name and its successes against the Japanese including the longest torpedo shots of the war. He provides an update on the number of nuclear submarines of various classes now in the United States fleet, including attack types and Polaris submarines. Fine. Rickover was the major proponent of the use of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy, and went on trial runs with most of them.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
