Benezit, <I>Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs et Graveurs,</B></I> vol.13, cited p.909 as <I>"Frederic le Grand avec ses generaux"</B></I><BR><BR>Hugo Ungewitter, a well-known German painter of military, hunting, animal and sporting scenes, studied at the Dusseldorf Academy from 1888 to 1897. This particular history painting by Hugo Ungewitter depicts Frederick the Great (1712-1786) of the House of Hohenzollern erect upon his mount, looking into the foggy field of battle.
