HUGHES-PARRY, J. FISHING FANTASY A SALMON FISHERMAN'S . London: Eyre and Spottiswood, [1949]. Illustrated. 206 pp. 8vo, blue cloth and dustjacket, jacket chipped, else very good [sold with] 4 ALs dated July 2, 3rd & 4th '49 (one undated) to Charles Hancock. The first 2 pp. letter deals with the inaccuracies of the reviewer's comments on his (Hughes-Parry's) book. The July 2nd letter touches upon the three points of fault outlined by the reviewer and goes on to explain why he uses a larger hook. The July 3rd letter thanks Hancock for the review and affixes his favourite trout hook to the letter. The final letter dated July 4th discusses fly-tying and has an actual tie attached to the upper left corner. Also included is a group of magazine clippings about Hughes-Parry. Should be seen.
