Confederate brigadier general who commanded the post of Savannah during most of the war leading his troops at Dalton, Kenesaw Mountain and Marietta. He was a Savannah banker before and after the war. Bank note of The Planters Bank of Georgia in ten dollar denomination, printed on one side and hand-dated “<i>1 Feb. 1856</i>.” Boldly signed as cashier. Normal wear; general toning; edge nicks with negligible paper loss not affecting signature; o/w VG.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
