HSC: 1960's Ernie Nevers Signed ALS Letter PSA/DN
1960's Ernie Nevers Handwritten Letter. Stanford coach Pop Warner once called him "the football player without a fault," and Babe Ruth was quite fond of him as well, having delivered two of his pitches into the outfield bleachers during his historic 1927 campaign when Nevers took to the mound for the St. Louis Browns during the N.F.L. offseason. Spectacular content puts this letter at the top of the very small heap of Nevers correspondence to have seen the light of day in the collecting hobby. His perfect blue ink reads, "Dear Dave, Football offered me many great thrills. One was the 1st of January 1925 against the Four Horsemen from Notre Dame. Stanford lost the game but it was a great thrill. Another great thrill was the day the Chicago Cardinals beat the Chicago Bears 40-6 and I was fortunate to have scored all forty points. Ernie Nevers." Page (6x9") and all ink is NRMT-MT. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
