HSC: 1953 World Series Game Used Baseball PSA/DNA
1953 World Series Game Used Baseball. Yet another Subway Series this October, as the Yanks and the Bums locked horns for the fifth time in the history of the Fall Classic. This OAL (Harridge) ball shared the diamond with guys like Mantle, Berra, Jackie and Campy before being presented to a baseball fan by one of the umpires officiating the event. Rather lengthy inscription spans two panels and the sweet spot, reading, "Best Wishes To Jerry Leonard From Bill Stewart, N.L. Umpire 1953, World Series Umpire, Yanks vs. Dodgers." It's interesting to note that Stewart had his own personal taste of World Championship glory fifteen years earlier, becoming the first American-born coach to lead a team to the Stanley Cup Championship as skipper of the 1938 Chicago Blackhawks. The U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer's vintage ink is still quite bold, rating 8/10 overall. Ball shows nice use from its many brushes with greatness, and displays wonderfully. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
