HSC: 1925 Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball PSA/DNA
1925 Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball. While single signed Cobb balls are scarce enough, we increase the rarity and desirability ten fold when we can definitively date a signature to the Peach's Hall of Fame playing days. Such is the case with this OAL (Johnson) ball, which almost certainly saw action at Tiger Stadium before coming to rest under Cobb's pen. The lengthy side panel inscription proves that the most feared man in baseball could be a gentleman when he cared to, reading "To Rollin Daider, In appreciation, From Ty Cobb, May-22-25." The ink has lightened a bit in the ensuing eight decades but is still quite readily legible, and certainly superior in quality to most autographs seen on baseballs from this era. The ball itself offers an attractive and consistent toning, with a few darker spots that do nothing to detract from overall eye appeal. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
