(HOLOCAUST)
A scarce Saxony (Germany) identity card issued to a Jew who had emigrated from Poland. The card was issued in Liepzig on Feb. 1, 1936 to one Nachman Fund, a 50 year old Polish citizen. Also included is a 2" x 3 1/2" candid photo showing Fund full-length with an identifying Star of David pinned to his chest. Miraculously, a notation of the verso of the photo indicates that Fund survived the war, dying in London in 1965. Sold with two (unrelated) Litzmannstadt ghetto banknotes, two marks and 20 marks, each bearing a Star of David and showing some wear. Four pieces, very good.
