Very rare German passport issued to a German Jew who fled to Palestine in 1936, and bearing all official seals and stamps. The passport was issued in 1933 to one Meinhold Katz, 30 years old, and at the time residing in Plauen. On June 22, 1936 Katz was issued a visa for Palestine by the British Consul in Liepzig, marked "GOOD FOR SINGLE JOURNEY ONLY". On August 29th, Katz obtained an exit visa in Frankfurt, and on September 7th, he arrived in Haifa. The stamped entry visa reads: "GOVERNMENT OF PALESTINE Department of Migration Permitted to remain permanently in Palestine as an immigrant". Katz was actually incredibly lucky to obtain the visa and escape Germany with his life as Himmler had been appointed the Chief of German Police two months earlier, and on October 25 Hitler and Mussolini formed the Rome-Berlin Axis. Very good.
