HOFMAN, ALBERT
1062. ALBERT HOFMAN (1906 - ?) Swiss chemist employed by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals whose experiments synthesizing lysergic acid resulted in his creation of LSD. Hofman accidentally dosed himself and described his experience as: "an uninterrupted stream of fantastic images of extraordinary plasticity and vividness and accompanied by an intense kaleidoscopic play of colors". Hofman later synthesized the psychoactive components of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Excessively rare A.D.S. 1p. 8" x 10", penned at the bottom of a pixilated image of the scientist. Hofman writes the chemical structure of LSD and notes "LSD" beneath the drawing, and boldly inscribes and signs at right. A very rare signature, in fine condition.$400-600
