[lxxxii], 332 pp. Illustrated with steel engraved plates. 4to, full polished calf with gilt ruled borders, inlaid initials "JTS" on upper covers, floral decorated spine panels and leather spine labels, spines and extremities rubbed, a.e.g., bookplate, some sporadic spotting, on the whole very good.

A good history of the county including topographical and archaelogical findings. Unfinished at the time of the author's death, it was the first comprehensive history of the area.
