Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 579v. Scarce Swiss Luger assembled by Mauser using DWM parts, circa 1934, in the desirable “v” suffix serial range, with commercial holster and strap. Standard configuration 1906 Swiss Luger having 4.75” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and “V” notch rear sight. Swiss Cross in Starburst on chamber. “DWM” middle toggle link. Full serial number on forward frame, last three digits on receiver lug; two digits on all the usual small parts. Firing pin, grip safety and grips are unnumbered. Crown/Crown/U proofs under the barrel, left receiver and breechblock. Major components blued. Trigger, takedown lever, extractor, ejector, magazine release button are strawed. Checkered grips. MAGS: good plus, unmarked, tinned with walnut plug, mar on base. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: near excellent, unmarked, cordovan commercial holster with added magazine pouch, ownership “Thomet” inked inside lid, with shoulder strap. CONDITION: VG+ original condition, with fading, especially on the front and backstraps that appear as a toned gray. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. Comparable condition grips. Bright, near mirror-bore. Near excellent manual mechanics. One of the rarest Swiss Lugers that provides an interesting historical bridge between DWM and Mauser.
