<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899><h3 align=center>“The Wood of Morois” from <i>Tristan</i></h3>(1870-1953). French-born British writer. Best known for his light English prose and droll verse, his religious and political conservatism strongly colored his serious work, including a four-volume <i>History of England</i> and biographies of <i>Cromwell</i> (1934) and <i>Charles II</i> (1939). Unsigned original typescript of a chapter entitled “The Wood of Morois” from <i>Tristan</i>, 3½pp, 4to, n.p., n.d. Printer’s markings in blue on first page, “<i>Tristan, pp. 65 to 68</i>” plus a few minor editorial markings in the text by the author. Present also are two identical pages of typescript, 4to, the second of which displays Belloc’s holograph note “<i>31 et 32”</i> which is a final version of the first page of the two containing numerous penned additions, deletions and alterations in his hand. Minor soiling; file hole at top left corner margin of five pages; folds; else in good/very good condition.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
